- The Toros responded quickly with two runs in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead that they would not give up the rest of the way. Messersmith drew a walk and advanced to second on a bunt by Lane that she was able to reach on as well. A sacrifice bunt by Telles moved Lane and Messersmith to second and third, respectively. In the next at bat, Simon laced a triple to right center to bring both runners home.

Telles drew a walk to put two runners on and Simon got an RBI hit to plate Reveles. Simon then stole second which forced a CSUMB error that was able to get Telles home. Canizales hit a double to left center to get Simon in to account for the final score of the game.
