CARSON - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team put on a valiant effort down the stretch, but ultimately fell to Humboldt State by a final score of 76-66 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Thursday at the Torodome. The Toros drop to 12-13 overall and 8-11 in conference play. The Lumberjacks improve to 16-6 overall and 14-5 in the CCAA.
Despite the loss, the Toros did get help from other results around the CCAA to keep their postseason chances well alive with three games remaining. Dominguez Hills currently shares the eighth and final spot to the CCAA Tournament with San Francisco State, but the two are 0.5 game ahead of Sonoma State. The Toros are still in position to gain higher seeding as they trail Cal State East Bay and Chico State, whom both are tied for fifth in the standings at 9-10.
