CARSON - The Cal State Dominguez Hills softball team split a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) doubleheader against Stanislaus State, Saturday at Toro Diamond. The Toros are now 4-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play. The Warriors are 4-7 overall and 1-5 in the CCAA.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros scored seven runs on nine hits, aided by four Warrior errors.
- The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two and half innings, scoring two in the second and one in the top of the third.
- CSUDH responded with three runs in the bottom of the third to even the score. Sophomore
Kelcy Telles hit a single, advanced to second on a wild pitch and came across on senior
Jazmin Guzman's double. Guzman touched home on an RBI hit from freshman
Amanda Canizales. A sacrifice fly from senior
Rachael Sandoval plated Canizales.
- The Toros added two more runs in the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. Junior
Jade Loe hit a single to left field and took second on a Stanislaus State error forced by sophomore
Chloe Wenger. A sacrifice bunt from Telles put Loe at third and Wenger at second. Then, junior
Chenoa Au hit an RBI single to score Loe and move Wenger to third. With runners on the corner, the Toros forced an error on a delayed double steal as Wenger touched home plate.
- The Warriors cut the margin to one, scoring one run in the top of the fifth.
- CSUDH got some insurance with two runs in the bottom of that inning. Senior
Damari Simon forced an error and took second. Sandoval hit an RBI double to score Simon, took third on a groundout and came across on a passed ball.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- CSUDH drew first blood, with one run in the bottom of the opening frame. Telles singled, stole second and took third on Guzman's sac bunt. She scored on a throwing error by the catcher caused by a delayed double steal.
- The Toros couldn't get another hit after the first inning as the Warriors scored on a pair of home runs in the fifth and sixth inning to prevail.
