LA JOLLA - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team fell to No. 2 UC San Diego by a final score of 89-70 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Thursday at RIMAC Arena. The Tritons remain unbeaten and improve to 21-0 overall and 17-0 in the CCAA. The Toros drop to 12-11 overall and 8-9 in conference play.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros kept it close in the beginning, with the score even at 10-10 after the first five minutes of play. UCSD went on a run as the Toros trailed 30-15 at the end of the first quarter.
- CSUDH nearly went point-for-point with the Tritons in the second quarter and trailed 54-36 at halftime.
- UCSD kept the onslaught going in the third period and grabbed its biggest lead of the game, 62-36 midway through the quarter. CSUDH trailed 71-53 with ten minutes to play.
Zhane Carter nailed a 3-pointer with time expiring in the period.
- The Toros started the fourth on an 11-2 run, capped off by a Carter 3-pointer to make it a single digit game, 73-64. The Tritons would eventually pull away and ultimately prevail by 19 points.
