LA MIRADA - Cal State Dominguez Hills opened its 2019-20 campaign with an 83-75 loss to Concordia Irvine in a non-conference women's basketball matchup, Friday at Chase Gymnasium. The game was part of the two-day CCAA/PacWest Challenge, hosted by Biola.

Ahlisha Henderson helped out with 12, 10 and 10 points, respectively. The Eagles (1-0) were led by Jasmine Rachal's game-high 30 points.

The Toros stumbled out of the gates and did not have a lead in the first half, trailing by five after the first quarter and seven points at halftime, 43-36.

Williams came alive in the third quarter and put away nine points as CSUDH outscored Concorida in the period 24-17 to make it even, 60-60, going into the final 10 minutes. Williams scored two baskets to open the fourth as the Toros grabbed their biggest lead of the game, 64-60. The Eagles responded back with a 7-0 run from there and did not look back as CSUDH ultimately fell by eight.

The Toros will take on Biola to close out the CCAA/PacWest Challenge on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m.
