SAN FRANCISCO – It will be a pleasant trip back to campus for the Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball team after taking two wins against Great Northwest Athletic Conference opponents at San Francisco State's The Swamp on Saturday.
The Toros had the early-bird shift which resulted a three-set win over Montana State Billings, and after having to wait nearly the entire day to get back onto the floor, Dominguez Hills had to come from behind and edge Saint Martin's in five games to finish the D2 West Region Showcase 3-1.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros opened the match with a 5-0 lead that set the tone of the first set. They went on a 7-point run midway through to take a 15-4 lead.
Marissa Weber had two service aces during that run.
- Despite a Dominguez Hills' 7-3 start in the second game, the Yellowjacks rebounded to tie the round four times. It wasn't until the Toros scored six consecutive points to take a 21-15 lead en route to a 25-22 set win.
- The Toros made minimal mistakes in the fourth set, recording only three attacking errors and one hall handling error.
- Similar to the second set, the fourth round started out with the Yellowjackets scoring first on a service error and the Toros went on to score four straight points. Dominguez Hills led by as many as nine (19-10).

WHAT HAPPENED?
- It was a fight until the end in the first set following 15 ties and seven lead changes. It was the Saints that scored the final three points to win the game 25-22.
- With the exception of libero
Lynda Nguyen, all six players in the fourth set recorded a kill, with Ramirez, Yandall and Esther scoring three. Ramirez added seven assists in the round.
- The Toros recorded a season-high 59 kills and 55 assists.
- Yandall led the effort in the deciding set, posting a .333 attack percentage with five of the team's 10 kills.
- Tied at 13 apiece in the fifth game, the Toros got the eventual winning points off of
Lotte Braakhuis' kill and
Renee Wheeler's service ace.
AT THE END OF THE DAY…

Tati Yandall finished the weekend with 69 kills and 45 digs, earning her a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Jordan Ramirez also had a great weekend, setting up for 155 kills, reaching 37 digs, posting nine service aces and six kills. She also recorded two double-doubles.
- Since the West Region Showcase began in 2015, the Toros are 7-9.

The Toros return to The Swamp next weekend to begin play in the California Collegiate Athletic Association against San Francisco State Friday. First serve is at 7 p.m.
