CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team couldn't find many open holes in the field as the Toros fell 11-0 to Cal State East Bay Sunday, forcing them to split the four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association series.
The Toros only got two hits, one from
Jordan James in the fifth and pinch-hitter
Trevor North in the ninth.
The Pioneers got all the runs they needed in the second, scoring in two without recording a hit. They added four more in the fourth, three in the sixth and two more in the ninth.
Joshua Gogue and
Ian Codina were the only pitchers to throw a shutout inning for the Toros.
The Toros will make one more trip to Northern California next weekend to face defending conference champions Chico State. The four-game series begins Friday under the lights at 6 p.m.
