CARSON - Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader to Concordia-Irvine, Tuesday at the Toro Diamond. CSUDH fell in both games by an identical score of 1-0.

The Toros are now 13-27 overall. CUI improves to 24-10 on the season.

CSUDH will have two days off before hosting a four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series against Cal State Monterey Bay Friday and Saturday, April 13-14.

Game One - CUI 1, CSUDH 0
CSUDH was limited to two hits and fell in game one by a score of 1-0. The two base hits in the contest for the Toros came from sophomore outfielder
Jessica Lane and junior
Doreen Corella, who came in to pinch hit. Senior right-handed pitcher
Alyssa Valinches tossed all seven innings, gave up one earned run and struck out four.

CSUDH's best opportunity to score came in the bottom of the third. Senior infielder
Alexis Pintado was hit by a pitch and advanced to second on a CUI fielding error that was drawn by freshman outfielder
Kelcy Telles. The Eagles were able to thwart the threat with a strike out and a pair of fly outs. CUI scored the only run of the game in the top of the fourth inning on a double steal with runners on first and third. CSUDH left a runner on in the sixth and seventh innings.

CSUDH fell in the second game by the same score of 1-0. Junior infielder
Jazmin Guzman went a perfect 2-for-2 from the plate. The other two hits in the contest came from junior catcher
Rachael Sandoval and senior designated player
Kayla Lock. Sophomore right-handed pitcher
Jade Loe threw all seven frames and gave up one earned run.

CUI got one run in the top of the second for the only score of the game. CSUDH's best opportunity to score came in the bottom of the third. With two outs, back-to-back hits from Guzman and Lock put runners on second and third, but the Toros weren't able to get the pair home.
