TURLOCK - The Cal State Dominguez Hills softball team fell in heartbreaking fashion as they gave up a three-run lead in the seventh inning and fell by a final score of 7-6 in the second day of the Tournament of Champions presented by the city of Turlock, Saturday at Pedretti Sports Complex.

The Toros are now 10-18 overall.

Alyssa Valinches (5-8) took the loss, giving up seven runs, while striking out four. Senior outfielder
Kayla Lock had one hit, one run and two RBI. Junior catcher
Rachael Sandoval recorded one hit and two RBI. Junior outfielder
Doreen Corella went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. CSUDH outhit AAU 13-9 in the contest.

The Toros struck in the second inning with three runs.
Chloe Wenger reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to third on
Alexis Pintado's single.
Kelcy Telles hit an RBI single to bring in Wenger and
Jazmin Guzman did the same to get Pintado home.
Kayla Lock drew a walk to load the basees and
Rachael Sandoval reached on a fielder's choice to get Guzman in.

CSUDH added one more in the third to take a 4-0 lead. Corella doubled, Wenger singled Guzman drew a walk to load the bases. Lock drew four balls to plate Corella.

The Urban Knights scored one in the top of the fourth and two in the fifth to close within one run, 4-3.

The Toros added two insurance runs to take a commanding 6-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth. Telles singled and stole second. Lock doubled up the middle to get Telles home and Sandoval also doubled to get Lock in.

The Urban Knights wouldn't go down quietly. The Toros gave up four runs in the top of the seventh as AAU took a one-run lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. CSUDH was able to get a runner on, but couldn't get anything else as the Urban Knights prevailed.
