SEASIDE - Cal State Dominguez Hills were able to overcome a 12-point deficit and defeat Cal State Monterey Bay by a final score of 62-58 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) women's basketball action, Friday at The Kelp Bed.

The Toros improve to 11-12 overall and 9-9 in conference play. The Otters drop to 4-19 overall and 3-16 in the CCAA.

CSUDH was led by junior guard
Nautica Morrow's 17 points and five steals. Â Senior forward
Taylor Farris recorded her eighth double-double of the year with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Toros took control early and grabbed a 10-point lead, 16-6, with three minutes to go in the opening quarter after a Morrow jumper. CSUMB responded with a 20-3 run for a seven-point advantage, 26-17, with four minutes before intermission. CSUDH went into halftime trailing 31-23.

The Otters continued the offensive onslaught and grabbed their biggest lead of the game, 35-23, with seven minutes to go in the third period. The Toros started to chip away at the CSUMB lead and closed to within seven points, 44-37, before the final quarter. CSUDH went on a 12-5 run, capped off by a Farris jumper, to even the score 49-49. After the Otters made two free throws on their ensuing possession, CSUDH scores even straight points for a 56-51 advantage on sophomore forward
Dijour Ledbetter's layup with 1:10 remaining. CSUMB was forced to foul and the Toros knocked down six free throws in the final minute to prevail by four.

CSUDH will travel to Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Feb. 10 for their next contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
