CARSON - In a back-and-forth game that featured 11 lead changes and 12 ties, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team narrowly fell to Cal State LA by a final score of 57-50 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Saturday at the ToroDome. The game was also the annual Homecoming game for the Toros.Â

The Toros drop to 10-12 overall and 8-9 in the CCAA. The Golden Eagles improve to 11-12 overall and 10-7 in conference play.

CSUDH was led by
Zhane Carter's 20 points.
Taylor Farris pitched in 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

CSULA grabbed a narrow 11-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Toros took a four-point advantage on two separate occasions before the score would be deadlocked three times before the end of the half. CSULA went into the intermission with a 25-23 lead.

CSUDH kept knocking on the Golden Eagles' door in the second half and eventually grabbed a five-point lead, 44-39, with 6:23 left in the contest. CSULA would then go on a 5-0 run to deadlock the score once again. With the score even at 48-48, Christine Delapina put the Golden Eagles on her back and scored the final eight of nine points for her team. CSULA would ultimately prevail by seven. Â
