ROHNERT PARK - The Cal State Dominguez Hills softball team dropped both ends of a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) doubleheader by final scores of 6-2 and 2-1, Friday at Seawolf Softball Field.

The Toros move to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play. The Seawolves improve to 8-4 overall and 4-2 in the CCAA.

The two teams will conclude the four-game series with another doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m.

Game 1 -Â SSU 6, CSUDHÂ 2
CSUDH outhit SSU 13-8, but fell 6-2. Senior outfielder
Kayla Lock went a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate. Junior outfielder
Damari Simon went 2-for-4 with one run. Junior catcher
Renee Galindo also went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

The Seawolves got started early, scoring two runs in the first and one in the fourth.

The Toros broke through in the top of the fifth. Simon singled, advanced to second on a hit from junior catcher
Rachael Sandoval and Lock loaded the bases on a a ball through the right side. Freshman infielder
Miranda Cabanayan forced an error from SSU to plate Simon for CSUDH's first run of the game. Galindo's RBI single to bring home Sandoval in the next at bat cut the margin to 3-2 for the Toros.

The Seawolves responded quickly with three runs in the bottom of the inning for a 6-2 lead. CSUDH was able to get two on base in the top of the seventh, but were not able to bring them in and fell to SSU by four runs.

Game 2 - SSU 2, CSUDHÂ 1
SSU walked-off CSUDH, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh with a RBI single from Alee Balanon. Junior infielder
Jazmin Guzman, sophomore infielder
Kendelle Messersmith and Lock each went 1-for-3 in the game. The lone Toro run came from senior outfielder
Doreen Corella and RBI from sophomore designated player
Jessica Lane.

Both teams went scoreless in the first four innings. CSUDH went up 1-0 in the top of the fifth as Corella tripled to right center and was brought home on Lane's double.

The Toros gave a run in both the bottom of the sixth and seventh and ultimately fell to the Seawolves.
