CARSON - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team took down Concordia Irvine by a final score of 64-50 in a non-conference matchup to open the season, Friday at the Torodome. The Toros are now 1-0, while the Eagles are now 0-1.

- The two teams went back and forth to start the game. With the score tied 10-10,
Heaven Holmes nailed a 3-pointer to give the Toros the lead as they never trailed from there.
- The Toros led 17-12 after the first 10 minutes.
- CSUDH outscored CUI 22-10 in the second quarter for a 39-22 advantage at halftime.
- The Toros kept the onslaught going in the third and topped the Eagles 18-8 in the period for a 57-30 lead, their biggest advantage of the game.
- CUI won the fourth quarter 20-7, but the margin was insurmountable as CSUDH ultimately prevailed by 14.
- The Toros won the rebounding battle 56-38, including 21-13 on the offensive glass.
- CSUDH also had the advantage in turnovers, 19-14.
