MALIBU – The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team got one final tune-up before it actually counts as the Toros lost an exhibition matchup with NCAA Division I Pepperdine, 100-66, at Firestone Fieldhouse Wednesday.
The Toros will officially go on the record Friday with Western Washington at UC San Diego's campus. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.

Michael Chavers got the game's first basket – a 3-pointer – but the Waves began a big 16-3 tide thereafter to take complete control of the game.
- The Toros did get to within four (17-13) at the 12:16 mark when
Jayvon Brown scored five points in the span of nine seconds.
- Fouls was a problem for Dominguez Hills as it totaled 16 at the half. Pepperdine was punished with 10 fouls. The Toros did improve this problem in the second half, reducing it to six.
- Dominguez Hills also did better on the shooting front in the second half, hitting 33 percent of its baskets to finish with nearly 32 percent overall.
