HAYWARD - Five Toros scored in double figures as the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team opened up California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action with a 73-65 win over Cal State East Bay, Thursday at Pioneer Gymnasium. CSUDH improves to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Pioneers drop to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the CCAA.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- CSUDH controlled things early and grabbed its largest lead of the game, 22-10, with 1:21 left in the opening period. The Toros led 22-15 at the end of 10 minutes.
- Both teams struggled offensively as the Toros were narrowly outscored 13-11 in the second quarter, but took a 33-28 advantage at halftime.
- The Pioneers nearly caught CSUDH after scoring two baskets to open the third period to make it a 33-32 game. The Toros got back on track and led by six points, 53-47, at the end of the quarter.
- A 3-pointer from
Lea Anderson gave CSUDH its biggest advantage of the second half, 65-55, with 4:20 remaining in the contest. The Toros made the necessary free throws to close out the game and prevailed by eight points.
