LOS ANGELES – The Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball team continues to fight through what has been a difficult season as the Toros dropped three sets (21-25, 19-25, 19-25) to crosstown rivals No. 14 Cal State LA at the Eagles Nest Saturday evening.
The Toros fall to 5-12 overall, 0-9 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros couldn't quite find any offensive rhythm in the match. They finished hitting .092 overall while punching nine kills in the second set.
- Errors had been a problem on both sides. Dominguez Hills committed 27 total errors, Los Angeles made 33 including 19 attacking and 12 service errors.
- After a rough opening-set loss, the Toros jumped out to a 10-3 lead to start the second. The Golden Eagles found themselves back into competition following a 6-1 run to take a 16-15 lead. The Toros did regain a 21-19 lead only to lose it on a 4-point set-winning run by the Golden Eagles.
- Los Angeles' Karla Santos appeared to be unstoppable in the match, hitting .257 with 17 kills and seven digs.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Toros will have the longest road trip of the season in NorCal, visiting Sonoma State Thursday followed by an even longer trek to Humboldt State Saturday. Both are 7 p.m. starts.
