Weber Digs Her Way to Another Career-High in Loss to Tritons

LA JOLLA – Marissa Weber continues to reach new heights as for the second consecutive match the senior recorded a career-high 16 digs in the Cal State Dominguez Hills volleyball team's three set loss (21-25, 16-25, 21-25) at UC San Diego Tuesday night.

The Toros fall to 5-11 overall while still searching for their first California Collegiate Athletic Association win after eight attempts.

TOP PERFORMERS
Marissa Weber – 16 digs (career-high), 5 kills, 1 block assist
Tati Yandall – 15 kills, 5 digs, 2 service aces
Jordan Ramirez – 32 assists, 5 digs, 2 kills

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Toros couldn't quite cool down the Tritons attack as the hosts hit above .300 in all three sets to finish .353. Dominguez Hills, meanwhile, hit .147 on the night.
- Each team had a four-point run on two different occasions in the first round. The Toros second momentum put them into a 15-point tie with the Tritons and from that point on neither team led by more than three.
- Game three, much like the first, saw the Toros had to dig themselves out of an early hole early. The difference in the set came on a three-point Triton run gave them a 19-15 lead. Dominguez Hills did get to within 24-21 on back-to-back errors but UC San Diego got the game and match-winning point on Brie Severino's kill.

MATCH NOTES
- Esther Duru also had a career-night in the digs column, reaching nine.  She also finished the night with eight kills.
- Tati Yandall's 15 kills is her highest since September 8 at Cal State East Bay.

WHO'S NEXT?
The Toros will have short drive up highway 710 to rival No. 14 Cal State LA Saturday for a 5 p.m. start. The Golden Eagles swept the Toros at the Torodome three weeks ago.
