LOS ANGELES - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team fell to Cal State LA by a final score of 79-72 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Saturday at The Eagles Nest. In a valiant effort, the Toros, who trailed by as much as 19 points in the second quarter, closed to within four points in the final moments.

CSUDH and the Golden Eagles now have the same conference record at 5-5. The Toros are now 7-8 overall and CSULA improves to 6-10 overall.

Nautica Morrow led CSUDH with 25 points, four rebounds, seven assists and five steals.
Zhane Carter pitched in 18 points aided by four treys.

Neither team had a clear advantage at the end of the first quarter, with the Golden Eagles holding a slight 16-14 advantage after 10 minutes of play.

The second period belonged to CSULA. The Golden Eagles has an 18-0 run in the quarter and led by as much as 19 points, twice. The Toros trailed 41-25 at halftime.

Trailing 72-56 with 3:27 left in the game, CSUDH went on a 14-2 run, capped off by a Carter 3-pointer, to make it a four-point game with 32.2 seconds left. The Toros were forced to foul and the Golden Eagles went 5-for-6 to close the game.
