CARSON - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with an 83-72 triumph over San Francisco State in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Friday at the Torodome.

The Toros get back to their winning ways and improve to 8-8 overall and 6-5 in conference play. The Gators drop to 4-10 overall and 2-9 in the CCAA.

Nautica Morrow led CSUDH with 18 points, five assists and three steals.
Heaven Holmes had 16 points, aided by three 3-pointers.
Taylor Farris finished with 15 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and three steals.

In a seesaw opening, SFSU took an early 19-17 lead at the end of the first 10 minutes. The Toros responded and outscored the Gators 30-12 in the second quarter for a 47-31 halftime lead. CSUDHÂ went on a 10-0 run in the middle of the period.Â

CSUDH started the third period on a 10-3 run, capped off by back-to-back Farris baskets, to grab their biggest advantage of the game, 64-41. The Gators would make things interesting, closing the gap to seven points on three separate occasions, but the Toros were able to hold off any comeback attempt.

CSUDH will face Sonoma State on Saturday, Jan. 13 for its next matchup. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
