CARSON - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team climbed out of a 15-point fourth quarter hole, but it was not enough as Humboldt State came out on top by a final score of 62-58 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action, Saturday at the Torodome.

The Toros drop to 10-11 overall and 8-8 in conference play. The Lumberjacks improve to 11-9 overall and 10-5 in the CCAA.

CSUDH was led by senior
Taylor Farris who recorded 15 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and four steals.
Nautica Morrow had 13 points and eight rebounds.
Dijour Ledbetter nearly came away with a double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down nine rebounds.

The Toros started strong and grabbed an eight-point lead, 13-5, with 2:23 left in the first quarter. HSU responded with a 9-0 run to grab the advantage, 14-13, on the first play of the second period. The Lumberjacks grabbed the momentum from there and went into halftime up by nine, 34-23.

HSU kept the onslaught going and opened up to a 15-point margin, 51-36, with nine minutes left in the contest. It was the Lumberjacks' biggest lead of the game. CSUDH came back with an improbable 20-0 run, ignited by a Morrow layup, to take a five-point advantage, 56-51, with 2:49 remaining. Momentum looked to be on CSUDH's side, but HSU answered the call and outscored the Toros 12-3 down the stretch to prevail by four.

CSUDH will host Cal State LA on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. or 20 minutes after the women's contest for its next contest.
