Pomona - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team narrowly came back from a 10-point second half deficit and fell to Cal Poly Pomona in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup by a final score of 65-61, Thursday at Kellogg Arena.

The Broncos improve to 12-5 overall and 9-3 in conference play. The Toros drop to 9-9 overall and 7-6 in the CCAA.

Nautica Morrow led CSUDH with a game-high 23 points to go along with six rebounds and two steals.
Paradise Hanchett grabbed a game-best 10 rebounds with four points.

The Toros started on fire and took a 15-6 lead in the middle of the first quarter after a
Zhane Carter 3-pointer. The Broncos responded with a 13-0 run from there that went into the second period for a four-point advantage. The two teams went back-and-forth as CPP went into halftime with a slim 31-29 lead.

The Broncos grabbed the momentum to start the second half and got their biggest advantage of the game, 39-29, with eight minutes left in the third quarter. CSUDH battled back and cut the margin to one on three separate occasions, but couldn't get over the hump and ultimately fell by four.

The Toros will have a day off before traveling to Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, Jan. 20. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.Â
