CARSON -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team defeated University of St. Katherine 10-0 in a non-conference matchup, Saturday at Toro Stadium.

The Toros get their first win of the season and improve to 1-7 overall.

CSUDH outshot the Firebirds 55-2.
Clarissa Chavez had two goals and two assists for the Toros.
Jada Thomas also finished the day with two scores.
Giovanna Recinos assisted on two CSUDH goals. The other goal scorers were

America Quintana,
Jennifer Garfias,
Sophia Litendahl,
Dani Martinez and
Rosaura Guerrero-Escobedo.

Chavez scored the first two goals of the game at 3:59 and 10:47. Amezcua, Garfias and Thomas gave the Toros a 5-0 lead at halftime. It only took 41 seconds into the second half for Quintana to find the net. Guerrero-Escobedo, Martinez, Thomas and Litendahl each scored after that as CSUDH prevailed by 10.

The Toros will hit the road and face Cal State East Bay on Friday, October 6 at 7 p.m. for their next matchup.Â
