Toros Suffer Shutout Loss at Cal Poly Pomona

POMONA -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team gave up three second-half goals en route to a 4-0 defeat against Cal Poly Pomona in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Friday at Kellogg Field.

The Toros remain winless at 0-4 and start conference play with a 0-1 record. The Broncos improve to 5-1 and 1-0 in the CCAA.

CSUDH was outshot 15-6. Toro Goalie Ruth-Maria Soto amassed six saves.

It took less than 10 minutes for the Broncos to find the net as CPP's Amanda Duran fed a through ball to Stephanie Rodriguez for the goal. The Broncos went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. The second half wasn't much better for CSUDH. The Toros were outshot 8-2 in the period and gave up three scores.

CSUDH will have one day off before facing Cal State San Bernardino in a road matchup on Sunday, Sept. 17. The game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
