Lynda Nguyen made a personal-best 28 digs as the Cal State Dominguez Hills avoided having to play a deciding set in a 3-1 win (25-19, 25-18, 15-25, 29-27) at Stanislaus State to open the California Collegiate Athletic Association season Friday night.
The victory also snaps the Toros two-match skid and improve to 5-4 overall.

After a back-and-forth battle for the lead to start the first set, the Toros scored four points off two errors and kills from Yandall and Autry to take a 15-11 lead. CSUDH went on another run, scoring six straight, to set up a game win.
The Toros had taken a 19-12 lead after scoring 8-of-9 points which included four Warrior errors.

CSUDH had the biggest momentum of the night in the fourth set, winning eight straight rallies to take an 18-10 lead. But the Warriors crawled their way out of the hole and managed to tie the game 24-all and force extra serves. Stanislaus State was one point away from forcing a deciding set until Heins, Autry and
