Donerson Gets Three Hits in Toros Loss to Cal State East Bay

HAYWARD – Daryl Donerson went 2-for-3 with a RBI but the Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team couldn't rebound from Cal State East Bay's four-run sixth inning in the Toros 4-1 loss to the Pioneers Sunday.
 
Ethan Etchebarren threw five shutout innings before the Pioneers knocked him out of the game in the sixth. The left-hander would strike out two and allow six hits and a walk. Joshua Gogue threw 2.1 shutout innings of relief.
 
The lone run for the Toros came in the seventh inning. Esteban Ortegan hit into a ground-rule double to left center and scored on Donerson's two-out single to third.
 
CSUDH returns home for another three-game CCAA series against the North Division as Cal State Monterey Bay visits Toro Field this weekend. The doubleheader Saturday begins at noon while game three is Sunday at 11 a.m.
