Simone Thompson led the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team with 14 points and 3 steals in their 49-67 loss to UC San Diego Thursday night.
Dijour Ledbetter scored nine points and
Destinee Williams added eight.
Jocelyne Diaz grabbed nine rebounds while Yasmine pulled down five boards.
The Toros only lead of the night would come off a 3-pointer by Thompson with 1:41 remaining in the first quarter that put them up by two points.
CSUDH (6-16, 3-12 CCAA) improved its field goal percentage from 13.3 percent in the first half to 29.1 at the end of the night. In the second half, the Toros hit a dozen field goals and would double UCSD in the 3-point column with seven.
Shandiin Armao led the Tritons (18-4, 14-2 CCAA) with 13 points while Mikayla Williams and Dalayna Sampton added 12 points each. Cassie Macleod grabbed 10 boards and Mikayla Williams pulled down eight.
The Cardinal and Gold will host Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
