Chico State Holds Off Toros' Last Attempt to Tie in CCAA Tournament Opener

CHICO – Vincent Golson's game-tying 3-point attempt with less than 10 seconds left just misses the bucket and Chico State snuck away with a 75-72 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in the CCAA Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday night.

Trialing 73-72 with 10.3 seconds remaining, the Jalen McFerren made the pair of free throws to make it a 3-point deficit. Golson blazed his way across the court and immediately made a 3-point shot that missed only to be rebounded by Dharion Tanner. Tanner moved back to the corner pocket and attempted the 3 himself only to miss at the buzzer.

The Toros finish the season 15-12, a 5-win improvement from a year ago.
