Golson Nets Career-High 32 Points; Men's Basketball Edges Coyotes

SAN BERNARDINO – Vincent Golson tallied a career-high 32 points, fellow senior Justin Sadler scored 13 to go along with 12 rebounds, as the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team escaped Coussoulis Arena with a 75-73 win over Cal State San Bernardino Saturday night.

CSUDH now finished the regular season 15-11 overall, but more importantly 11-9 in the CCAA.

Shortly after the game was finished, the CCAA announced its seedings for the conference tournament. The fifth-seeded Toros will travel across the state to play No. 4 Chico State Tuesday at 7 p.m. The winner of that round will come back to Southern California to join three other teams at the final site held at Cal State San Marcos. The semifinals are Friday.

The Toros also got tremendous help from Dharion Tanner contributed to 16 points and six rebounds off the bench.

The Coyotes had led by as many as four within the first five minutes. CSUDH would go on a seven-point run to take a 14-10 lead with 11:26 left.

Golson finished the first half scoring 17 points. Sadler grabbed eight defensive rebounds to lead that column.

CSUSB did get the first two buckets in the second half to bring the deficit to six. The Toros would go on a 12-2 run in nearly four minutes to build a 46-30 lead, the largest margin in the game.

The Toros would lead by as many as 15 in the second half. The Coyotes had prevented the Toros from gaining any momentum, which had allowed them to bring the deficit down from 13 to five with 30 seconds left.

It took a free throw from Glenn Baral and Golson at the end that proved the difference in the game, as Everett Turner hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to complete the 75-73 result.
