Sonoma State's Trip to Free Throw Line Hurts Toros

ROHNERT PARK – Eighteen free buckets for Sonoma State proved costly in the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball's 50-65 loss Saturday.
 
The Toros (6-19, 3-15 CCAA) attacked first, going up 4-0, but the Seawolves would take control with three minutes left in the first quarter and never look back.
 
SSU (12-12, 8-10 CCAA) had built a 14-point lead in the third quarter when CSUDH's 17-10 rally cut the deficit to three. Sonoma would outscore the Toros 15-9 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Simone Thompson led the Cardinal and Gold with 12 points, Breanna DuBois had 10 points and six rebounds, Jocelyne Diaz scored eight points with seven rebounds, and Destinee Williams added seven points and grabbed six boards.
 
The Seawolves saw four players hit double digits in Madison Burrough, Carly Gill, Jessica Mitz and Molly Donovan who combined for 50 points on the night.
 
The Toros return home one last time Thursday against Cal State San Marcos at 5:30 p.m. Before tipoff, CSUDH will have its traditional senior sendoff for Imari Brown, Simone Thompson, Lisa Rhett and DeLaura Castanada.
