ARCATA - In a battle of two of the top teams in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team fought back from a 13-point deficit, but ultimately fell to Humboldt State by a final score of 78-70, Friday at Lumberjack Arena.

Down 70-57 with 7:23 left in the game, the Toros went on a 13-0 run, capped off by a Nautica Morrow steal and fast break layup, to tie the game at 70-70.

The Toros drop to 7-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play. The Lumberjacks improve to 6-1 in the CCAA and 7-5 overall.

Morrow led CSUDH with 21 points. Taylor Farris added 16 points and
Dijour Ledbetter nearly came away with a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Neither team could get a clear advantage in a back-and-forth first half. A successful and-one by HSU at the halftime buzzer evened the score at 38-38.

The Lumberjacks outscored CSUDH 25-17 in the third quarter to take an eight-point advantage and stretched it to 13 early in the fourth. The Toros went on a 13-0 run to even the score at 70-70 with 2:51 left, but could not get another basket for the rest of the game.

CSUDH will have a day off before going to Chico State on New Year's Eve. Tip-off is at 12 p.m.
