ARCATA - The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team fell to Humboldt State in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup by a final score of 73-68, Friday at Lumberjack Arena.

The Toros drop to 3-5 in conference play and 6-9 overall. The Lumberjacks improve to 4-9 overall and 1-6 in the CCAA.

Malcolm Johnson and
Khalil Bedart-Ghani both recorded double-doubles. Johnson had a team-high 10 points with 10 rebounds. Bedart-Ghani had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The two teams went back-and-forth in the to start the game. With the score even at 19-19, the Lumberjacks went on a 19-9 run to grab a 38-28 lead at halftime.

HSU stretched its lead to 20 points in the second half, 57-37, with 11:21 remaining. The Toros cut the lead to five, 66-61, going on a 24-9 run that was capped off by a Johnson layup with 1:16 left.

CSUDH could not get it any closer than five points and ultimately fell 73-68.

The Toros will have a day off before traveling to Chico State on New Year's Eve. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Â
