CARSON – The Cal State Dominguez Hills battled back from a 19-point hole to make it a 2-point game, but ultimately fell to UC San Diego by a final score of 73-63 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Tuesday at the Toro Dome.
 
The Toros drop to 7-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play. The Tritons improve to 9-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the CCAA.
 
Nautica Morrow led CSUDH with 24 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals. Taylor finishes with 12 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and three blocks.
 
The Toros started slow and found themselves down by 19 points, 32-13, midway through the second quarter. CSUDH went on an 11-2 run from there to close out the period from there to make it a 34-24 game at halftime.
 
The Toros started the third quarter on a 12-4 run, capped off by a Zhane Carter 3-pointer, to cut the margin to two, 38-36, with 7:08 left in the third quarter. It would be the closest CSUDH would get as UCSD led by as much as 13 points the rest of the way and prevailed by 10. 

CSUDH will have 10 days off before heading on the road to Humboldt State on Thursday, December 29 at 5:30 p.m.
