SAN DIEGO - The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team closed out the PLNU Thanksgiving Classic by defeating host Point Loma by a final score of 74-65, Saturday at Golden Gymnasium. The contest was a rematch of both team's season opener as the Toros avenged a 97-72 loss two weeks ago to the Sea Lions.
 
CSUDH improves to 4-3 on the year. PLNU drops to 5-2 overall.
 
Nautica Morrow led the Toros with a game-co-high 25 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Taylor Farris recorded her third double-double of the season with 20 points and 16 rebounds. Zhane Carter chipped in 16 points with four 3-pointers and Dijour Ledbetter had 11 rebounds.
 
Neither team could get a clear advantage at first as CSUDH trailed by three points, 16-13, after a closely contested opening 10 minutes. The two sides kept exchanging points for much of the second quarter until, with two minutes left and the score even at 31-31, Carter nailed back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers as the Toros went into halftime with a five-point lead, 40-35. CSUDH outscored the Sea Lions 27-19 in the period.
 
The Toros kept their momentum through the intermission and used an 8-0 run in the middle of the third quarter, capped off by a Ledbetter jumper, to grab an 11-point advantage, 52-41, which would be their biggest of the game. CSUDH went into the final period up by nine, but PLNU scored five unanswered to start the fourth quarter and cut the gap to four points. It was the closest the Sea Lions would get as the Toro lead was insurmountable.
 
CSUDH will face Loyola Marymount in a road exhibition matchup on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m.
