CARSON - Down 35-29 at halftime, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team outscored Cal State Monterey Bay 39-25 in the final two quarters for a 68-60 win in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Saturday at the Torodome.

The Toros start conference play 2-0 and improve to 2-2 overall. The Otters drop to 1-1 in the CCAA and 2-3 overall.

CSUDH was led by Nautica Morrow's team-high 18 points. Taylor Farris had 13 points with eight rebounds and Heaven Holmes pitched in 12 points.

Neither team gained a clear advantage in the first 15 minutes of the game. With the game even at 22-22 with five minutes to go in the second quarter, CSUMB went on an 11-3 run for a 33-25 lead. The Toros were able to trim the margin down to six at halftime, 35-29. Morrow kept CSUDH in the game in the first half, scoring 15 of her 18 points, as no other Toro had more than five points.

CSUDHÂ outscored 21-11 in the third period, led by Farris' seven points, for a 50-46 lead. After the Otters scored two quick buckets to start the fourth quarter to even the score, the Toros responded with a 13-0 run to grab their biggest advantage of the game, 63-50. The margin would be insurmountable for CSUMB as CSUDH prevailed by eight.
