Toros Settle for 1-1 Draw With CSULA

CARSON -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team drew 1-1 with Cal State LA in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup that went double overtime, Wednesday at Toro Stadium.

With the result, the Toros are now 3-7-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference play. The Golden Eagles are 6-2-3 overall and 4-1-2 in the CCAA.

CSULA scored in the 36th minute as Meranda Salazar put a corner kick off of CSUDH goalie Ruth-Maria Soto's hands and into the net.

The Toros evened the score as Sophia Litendahl rifled a free kick from the top of the box into the lower right corner.

CSUDH almost got the golden goal just 22 seconds into overtime. Moa Eriksson's cross found the head of America Quintana, but was saved by CSULA goalkeeper Stephanie Correa.

Soto compiled eight saves for the Toros.

CSUDH will host San Francisco State on Friday, Oct. 13 at the StubHub Center's main field. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m.
