Toros Shut Out Third Straight PacWest Opponent With 2-0 Win Over Chaminade

HONOLULU -- It will be a pleasant flight back to the Mainland for the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team after posting another shutout victory against Chaminade Tuesday.

Sweden natives Louise Kallin and Moa Eriksson each scored to provide the 2-0 victory over the Silverswords (0-1), which was making its season debut. The Toros return home with a 3-0 record to start the season. They also had shut out and outscore the three PacWest Conference schools 7-0 to start the campaign.

It also marks the first time since 2011 CSUDH has won its first three contests.

The offense continued to dominate as it outshot the Swords 18-2, with Kallin, Moa Eriksson and Kelly Garzon recording three to lead the pack. The Toros have outshot their three opponents 45-10, 21-5 on goal.

The Silverswords were limited to two shots, one of which was stopped by goalkeeper Elisa Martin. Chaminade keeper Brandee Lane made seven saves on the day.

Kallin's second goal in as many contests came in the 26th minute, when she took a shot from the left angle 25 yards out.

Eriksson provided the insurance goal just before halftime. Dana Dibble connected to Eriksson who from the right side beat Lane.

The Toros open their home schedule Saturday when they host Canada's only NCAA school Simon Fraser for a noon kickoff.
