CARSON -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills track and field team will have a new track to compete on starting in 2016-17 after StubHub Center, home of the LA Galaxy, recently unveiled a newly reconstructed Track and Field Facility showcasing Beynon Sports' state-of-the-art sports surfacing technology.

The renowned StubHub Center is home to world-class competitions and provides a training ground for amateur, collegiate, professional and Olympic track athletes on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in Carson, California.

Beynon Sports replaced the Mondo surface with their IAAF Certified, BSS 300 track and field system. The Mondo surface had been unusable to the Cal State Toros track program for several years. In fact, the Toros were limited in their training due to the condition of the surface in order to prevent injuries to their athletes. This, in addition to the seam separation and premature wear of their Mondo track, had prevented CSU from hosting a track meet for the over a decade.

"Our former track was so hard on our runners," says track and field head coach Warren Edmonson. "The majority of our athletes were getting shin splints every year."

The newly installed track system has not only proven durability, but also provides excellent shock absorption and return of energy. It's impermeable, resilient, and known to be very fast, offering the Toros the perfect track surface for both consistent training and incredible race-day speed.

"We are thrilled at the performance of the Beynon track, both for competition and all the training in between.  It changes our whole program," Edmonson beams.

With an Olympic-caliber track and the addition of new track and field equipment, the Toros will now be able to host track meets for the first time in over 10 years. A boost for not only for the track team, but for the entire athletic program and sSouthern California's track and field community.
