Toros Capitalize on Free Throw Line to Beat Dominican

SAN RAFAEL – The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketball team made nine free throws within the final two minutes to erase a four-point deficit and complete a 67-60 victory over Dominican to extend the win streak to four Sunday afternoon.
 
The Penguins had a 60-56 lead at the 2:20 mark only to lose it on a pair of free throws from Khaliq Ghani and one from Vincent Golson. Justin Sadler and Vincent Golson added more points from the charity stripe to complete the win.
 
Golson went 5-for-6 on the line and finished the day with a game-best 18 points. He also dished out five assists. Three different Toros had six rebounds, including Sadler, who in addition dropped in 16 points.
 
After shooting just 35 percent against Stanislaus State Friday, CSUDH turned in a better result against Dominican, going 47 percent.
 
Jeremiah Gray led the effort for the Penguins by scoring 14 points coming off the bench.
 
Neither team had led by more than 10 points. The Toros largest lead was eight by the end of the first half.
 
The Toros conclude the non-conference schedule at the Torodome against California Miramar Saturday. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
