Sea Lions Make a Point in 3-0 Win Over Toros

CARSON -- Visiting Point Loma took a 1-0 lead on a goal in the 29th minute before adding a pair of Nico Tagaloa scores in a span of five minutes in the second half to take a convincing 3-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in the home opener for both schools.

Sophomore keeper Chase Gentry was off to a solid start in goal for the Toros, making five saves on the night with three of them highlight reel variety, in the loss.

In addition to the score, Point Loma outshot CSUDH 13-7 overall, 8-3 in goal. The Sea Lions also edged the Toros in corner kick opportunities 6-4.

The Sea Lions winning goal came in the 30th minute when Eduardo Gallardo chipped a shot over a unbreakable Gentry. Tagaloa would find the back of the net in the 68th and 73rd minutes to help Point Loma run away with the victory.

The Toros will now spend the next four contests on the road starting Saturday at Azusa Pacific. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
