Pitching Favors No. 10 Tritons in 2-0 Shutout on "Think Pink" Day

CARSON -- Senior Fernando Gallegos scattered six hits while fanning four, holding visiting and 10th-ranked UC San Diego to a pair of runs, but Triton starter Trevor Scott combined with reliever Dan Kolodin to blank the Cal State Dominguez Hills bats for the second game in a row en route to a 2-0 shutout win as the Toros celebrated "Think Pink" day.

Senior Kamran Young (pictured) went 3-for-4 in the loss that drops the Toros to 5-5, 0-2 CCAA.

Today was anything unlike yesterday's blowout, with Gallegos and Scott providing grittiness on the hill.

The Tritons broke the scoreless tie with a run in the 3rd, and added an insurance run in the 9th for the final count.

Adrian Guzman added two hits in the loss with Gallegos netting 100 pitches on the day.

The two teams conclude their four-game set tomorrow afternoon, with first pitch of game one set for 2 pm at Triton Field.
