CARSON -- Breanne Garcia dropped in 29 points to reach the 20 barrier for the third time in four games as the senior and the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball team opened the California Collegiate Athletic Association title defense with a 69-45 win over UC San Diego at the Torodome on a rare Tuesday night matchup.

Both teams went back and forth with the lead in the first quarter, with each side leading by as many as four.  Trailing by two (31-24) with 5:08 remaining in the first half, the Toros ignited an 11-0 run in the span of three minutes to take a seven-point lead. Garcia had seven points during that momentum.

CSUDH would never look back from that point on, leading 33-27 at the half.
