Defense Holds Chico State's Offense in Scoreless Draw

CARSON -- Cal State Dominguez Hills goalkeeper Elisa Martin made four saves and the Chico State fired 20 total shots but both women's soccer teams didn't find the back of the net in 110 minutes and will settle with a draw in California Collegiate Athletic Association play Friday evening.

The Toros (1-10-1, 0-6-1 CCAA) snap a 10-match losing skid as they enter the weekend off. Chico State, meanwhile, leave Carson 7-2-2, 3-1-1 in the CCAA.

While the Wildcats fired 20 shots overall, the Toros countered with 13. Both teams had six shots towards the goal.

The best chance CSUDH had in putting a point on the board was in the 71st minute. Johanna Rosas moved teh ball well into the Chico State box before passing it off to Katrina Cohen, whose shot missed the left side. On the other side, teh Wildcats never seemed to try a different location as most of their shots went directly to Martin.

After salvaging a point, the Toros will use the much-needed weekend off to prepare for their trip up north starting Friday with Cal State Monterey Bay.
