Rosas Penalizes East Bay in 1-0 CCAA Win

HAYWARD -- Sophomore striker Johana Rosas converted a penalty kick in the 67th minute to give Cal State Dominguez Hills its second-consecutive win, and third victory in the last four matches, in a 1-0 decision at Cal State East Bay.

CSUDH improves to 4-12, 2-8 CCAA with the victory after outscoring its last two opponents by 13 goals.

The Toros tallied a 5-3 shot advantage in a defensive and scoreless first half, forcing CSUEB's keeper to make four saves.

That all changed 20 minutes after the break as Rosas was awarded a penalty kick after one of two Toro corners, hammering it past Pioneer keeper Katelyn Oshima for a 1-0 lead.

The Toro defense and keeper Alexia Flippen held firm after taking the lead to preserve the 1-0 decision.

Rosas tallied a match-high 3 shots in the contest, with all three on frame.

The Toros conclude their 2015 season at Stanislaus State on Saturday, with first kick set for 4:30 pm.
