Women's Soccer Rallies, Holds on to Down San Francisco State

SAN FRANCISCO -- Ida Eriksson assisted Johana Rosas with the tying goal in the 61st minute and then scored the match winner nearly five minutes later as the duo led the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team to a 2-1 come-from-behind California Collegiate Athletic Association win over host San Francisco State Sunday afternoon.

The Toros (2-11-1, 1-7-1 CCAA) return to Carson having ended an 11-match winless streak.

San Francisco State (6-6-3, 2-4-3 CCAA), which outshot CSUDH, 17-9, scored the match's first goal in the 35th minute when Taylor Halstenson connected a free kick to Kelsey Wetzstein and was flicked to Kimber Lohman to set up in the box.

Coming off the bench, Eriksson took only 32 seconds to get the Toros rally started. In that 61st minute on a corner kick, the sophomore found the head of Rosas for the tying goal.

Shortly after, Megan Guzman's free kick found the Eriksson's head for the go-ahead goal.

The Gators would record five more shots since the goal to the Toros one.

CSUDH's Alexia Flippen and SFSU's Karin Nordin each made two saves on the day in goal.

The Toros welcome crosstown rival Cal State L.A. to campus Friday at 7 p.m.
