No. 14 Coyotes Roll Past Toros in CCAA Sweep

CARSON -- Coming off a crucial win at Cal State L.A. last night, No. 14 Cal State San Bernardino continued its momentum tonight in Carson as it swept past host Cal State Dominguez Hills in a 25-12, 25-17, 25-12 decision.

Jilianne Pineda posted team high honors with five kills as the Toros dropped to 2-12, 1-9 CCAA. CSUSB, meanwhile, improves to 10-4, 8-3 CCAA.

The Coyotes were focused to not let down after last night's hard-fought win, and that focus showed to open the match as CSUSB opened an early 10-3 lead and road that edge to a 25-12 win in the opener.

Set two nearly was a mirror image of the first set as the visitors opened an 8-2 lead and pushed it to 20-9 before withstanding a small Toro run fueled by Korryne Kelley's serve to take set two 25-17.

CSUDH put together some momentum in the third, sticking close to the Yotes through the set's first half.

Down by two at 12-10, however, the Coyotes asserted themselves to the tune of a 13-2 run to close the set, running away with a 25-12 win, and the sweep.

CSUSB held CSUDH to negative hitting percentages in all three sets, while hitting a whopping .378 for the match.

The Toros will look to regroup tomorrow night as upstart Humboldt State visits Carson after the Jacks took a thrilling five setter at Cal State L.A. last night.
