CARSON -- Senior pitcher Stephanie Jimenez was named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District Softball Team.  Jimenez, who boasts a 3.42 GPA as a communications major, earlier was chosen as a 1st-team All-CCAA selection after leading the league in wins, and boasts a 1.40 earned run average, ranking in the top 20 nationally and first in the CCAA, with a 24-9 record.

In 39 appearances, Jimenez has pitched 235.1 innings, grabbing eight shutouts and picking up one save. She has struck out 202 batters, holding her opponents to a .202 average against her. Jimenez also was named the Worth/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week four times during the regular season en route to leading the Toros to their ninth NCAA postseason appearance, which starts tomorrow against Sonoma State.

The Academic All-District team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom, and the teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
