Box Score

STOCKTON -- Entering the 2013 CCAA Tournament as the hottest team in the league, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros were the first team eliminated after this afternoon's 3-2 loss to UC San Diego, the second straight year CSUDH has not picked up a win in the tourney.

Junior Adriana Sanchez drew four base on balls as the Tritons captured the game on a walk-off RBI single by Emily McQuaid in the bottom of the 7th, dropping the Toros to 34-21 overall.

After scoring first on a Brittany Brenner bases-loaded walk, the Toros missed an opportunity to stretch its lead by leaving the bases filled.

UCSD took advantage in the 2nd as a leadoff home run preceded an RBI single for a 2-1 lead.

The Toros tied the game four innings later as pinch-hitter Jamie Duran drove home Catherine Brown, who laced a two-out single up the middle one batter earlier.

But the Tritons got the finals say in the bottom of the 7th in the walk-off win.

Entering this week as the No. 6-seeded team in the NCAA west region, the Toros will find out if two losses, to both a higher and lower seeded team, will affect their NCAA postseason fate, one that will be announced during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday at 7:30 am as the top eight will qualify for regionals.
