NCAA Softball Super Regional Streamed Live on Sidearm Showcase

Toro Sports Network's David Smock will provide play-by-play analysis

CARSON -- In conjunction with Sidearm Sports, all NCAA Softball West Super Regional games will be video streamed live on Showcase, with David Smock of the Toro Sports Network handling the play-by-play analysis.

The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros, the No. 6 seed in the West, will host top-seeded and national No. 5 Humboldt State on Toro Diamond this weekend for the right to represent the West Region in the College World Series.

Under CCAA Coach of the Year Frank Cheek, the Lumberjacks are lead by Daktronics West Region and All-CCAA Player of the Year Chrissy Stalf, who leads NCAA Division II with 26 home runs, just two shy of the single-season record.

The Toros are led by Stephanie Jimenez, who recently was named the Daktronics West Region Pitcher of the Year after earning four Worth/CCAA Pitcher of the Week nods, an NFCA 1st-team All-Region and a 1st-team All-CCAA selection, as well as by Adriana Sanchez, who earned 1st-team NFCA and Daktronics All-Region nods as well.

Coverage online at www.GoToros.com/showcase starts at 11:55 am, with Toros GameDay leading up to the first pitch at 12:00 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.  A third game, if necessary, begins about 30 minutes following Saturday's 12 noon contest.

Toro Sports Network coordinating producer and lead play-by-play announcer David Smock calls the action. Now in his fifth year, Smock began his career at Long Beach City College and Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington where he was graduated cum laude with a B.F.A. in communication arts with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. He was once the sports director at the NBC television affiliate in Billings, Montana. In 2007, Smock received a national cable TV award for best sports coverage from The Alliance for Community Media.
