Jimenez Named Worth/CCAA Pitcher of the Week

Honor comes on heels of earning TOC MVP

Stephanie Jimenez earned her second CCAA Pitcher of the Week honor after being named TOC MVP for the Champion Toros
WALNUT CREEK -- Following a three-day effort that saw senior Stephanie Jimenez lead the Toros to their first-ever Tournament of Champions Gold Bracket title en route to earning TOC MVP honors, the Norwalk native has been named the Worth/California Collegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the league office this morning.

This is Jimenez's second PIOW honor, following her selection to kick off the first week of the season on February 1.

Jimenez posted a 3-1 record during the tourney, including a pair of victories over No. 9 Humboldt State and St. Martin's on Championship Sunday that earned CSUDH its first tournament title.

The senior ace posted a 0.65 ERA with 22 strikeouts against just 3 walks over the 3-day tourney as opposing hitters batted just .183 against her.

CSUDH, now 23-18, has just three CCAA series remaining in the regular season starting this weekend at Cal State East Bay, looking to make up 6 games in the league standings to secure one of four berths in the CCAA tournament.
