CARSON -- Senior Stephanie Jimenez threw another complete-game gem, this time a 3-hitter, while junior Brittany Brenner went yard and Veronica Vazquez went 3-for-3 as CS Dominguez Hills took a 3-0 win over visiting CS Stanislaus to open today's twinbill, before CSUDH staged a 9th-inning comeback in a 5-4 walk-off win courtesy of Jessica Hall.

With the wins, CSUDH improves to 32-19, 19-15 CCAA, while CSUS drops to 16-34, 9-25 CCAA.

Additionally, CSUDH now is just one game back of Chico State and Sonoma State with two games left in the regular season as the Wildcats and Seawolves sit tied for third with identical 20-14 league marks.

Brenner got the scoring going early with a blast just to the right of dead center that followed an Adriana Sanchez lead-off single.

That's where the score remained until the 6th when Vazquez gave CSUDH an insurance run, trading places with Christina Chavez, who doubled one batter earlier.

That was plenty for Jimenez, who scattered four hits in the win while fanning seven.

The nightcap was much more dramatic as the hosts took a 3-0 lead on a 2RBI double by Cierrah Mullins, who advanced to third on a fielding error and sored on a Kristan Burns single.

Another Warrior run in the 5th made it 4-0, before the Toros mounted the first of three rallies.

In their 5th-inning at-bat, Sanchez brought home the first two runners in Cardinal and Gold with a double to right, after which Alyssa Cruz-Fernandez cut the deficit to one with an opposite field single of her own.

The Warriors looked to forge a split leading 4-3 heading into the bottom of the 7th, but a lead-off walk to Kaci McGinnis proved disastrous for the visitors.

After Jamie Duran came in to pinch run, a sacrifice moved her to second, where she stayed after Daisy Beltran lined out hard to left field.

With Sanchez at the plate, the Warriors decided to walk her intentionally, but the third pitch sailed over the catcher's head, allowing Duran to move to third.

The umpire, however, ruled that the third baseman interfered with Duran's movement home, and sent her to home plate to tie the score at 4-4.

That's where the score remained until the bottom of the 9th when Beltran lined a one-out single to left and moved to second on a huge walk to Cruz-Fernandez.

That set the table for Hall, who laced a 1-0 pitch to left field to bring home the game-winner and touch off a celebration at home plate.

Jimenez picked up the win in relief, as nine different Toros each banged a hit in the win, with Sanchez pacing the run producers with a pair of RBI.

The two teams will face off tomorrow on the final day of the regular season, with first pitch set for 11 am.  In between games, seven Toro seniors will be honored before playing their final home game on Toro Diamond.  Both games will be broadcast live on the Toro Sports Network by clicking here.
